Unclear whether community will be involved in future of Saltcoats Town Hall

It’s just to let you know, last week’s Council meeting about the future of Saltcoats Town Hall went pretty much as expected.
The Hall is currently shut and its future is up in the air.
They are moving forward with plans to set up working groups that will review the future of all libraries, halls and community centres in North Ayrshire.
A spokesperson for North Ayrshire Council said: “We are still at a very early stage following the decision made at the meeting of the Council last week. It was agreed that member/officer working groups would be appointed.”
But, it is still unclear how much the community will be involved in the working groups.
The spokesperson added: “However, the composition of these groups is yet to be decided. It will then be up to the elected members to determine the level of community involvement.”
Let’s hope that they do take into account the community’s views about our hall.
