Saltcoats Town Hall refurbishment 'not a priority', MP told

  • Work on Saltcoats Town Hall is not a priority in North Ayrshire Council's current budget plans

Council cutbacks are to blame for Saltcoats Town Hall lying empty and unused, local MP Katy Clark has claimed this week.

Work was due to begin refurbishing the hall back in October last year, but it appears that North Ayrshire Council is no longer going ahead with the project.

Katy Clark contacted the council about the lack of work on the building, and was told that due to a review of the council's budget, refurbishment of the Town Hall was no longer a priority.

Speaking to the Ardrossan and Saltcoats Herald, the MP said: "This is an issue which constituents raise with me time and time again and it is very sad not to see any action being taken."
