Saltcoats reception for Dear Mister Burns

A reception to mark the popular Dear Mister Burns exhibition will be held at the Heritage Centre in Saltcoats.

The Heritage Centre is hosting the reception, on Wednesday, February 29 from 6.30 – 8pm, in celebration of their successful collaboration with Irvine Burns Club. The most recent honorary member, famous Celtic European Cup winner Bobby Lennox, will be attending the reception to be presented with his membership scroll from the President of Irvine Burns Club.

Irvine Burns Club has had many prestigious honorary members through the years, including famous literary figures Charles Dickens, Alfred, Lord Tennyson, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, Janice Galloway and Ian Rankin. Sportspeople are also represented with letters from, amongst others, Rhona Martin, Jack Nicklaus and Craig Brown.

The exhibition features responses to the club from these honorary members also includes a section of the most recent additions, such as Graeme Obree, Nicola and Giovanni Benedetti, Nicola Sturgeon, Baroness Ford and Eddi Reader.
