Saltcoats police call for information after double attempted murder
15 AprilThe incident happened around 7.30pm on Wednesday 14th April when police were called to a report of two men lying injured in Townhead Road.
Police say it is believed they had been involved in an "altercation" with at least two other men.
Police enquires are ongoing and the incident is being treated as attempted murder.
Both injured men, aged 27 and 29 were taken by ambulance to Crosshouse Hospital, and the 27 year-old man was released after treatment. The 29 year-old man remains in hospital and staff describe his condition as serious.
Detective Sergeant Bert Grayston of Saltcoats Police Office said: "Investigations are at an early stage and at this time there is no further information on the suspects involved.
"I would like to appeal to anyone who was in the area of Townhead Road around 1930 hours last night and witnessed anything suspicious to come forward to police.
