Saltcoats man gets five years for Neil Lennon bomb plot
27 April, 2012Saltcoats man Neil McKenzie has been jailed for five years at Glasgow Sheriff Court after he was found guilty of sending suspect packages to Celtic manager Neil Lennon.
McKenzie (42) from Saltcoats was jailed along with Trevor Muirhead (44) of Kilwinning after being convicted of sending devices they believed were capable of exploding and causing injury through the post.
The pair were found guilty of conspiracy to assault Mr Lennon, former MSP Trish Godman and the late Paul McBride QC, with the sentence on both men backdated to May 2011.
