Police hunt for Saltcoats knife attacker

Strathclyde Police is appealing for information following a serious assault that occurred in Saltcoats on the evening of Monday, December 26.
A 31 year-old man was walking down Afton Road at around 9.25pm when he was approached by another man who engaged him in conversation.
The man then attacked him with a bladed weapon, and ran off in the direction of Darg Road, Stevenston.
The suspect is described as white, 5ft 10 inches, approximately 30 years old, of medium build, dark hair, and wearing dark clothing.
Detective Constable Michael Grant of Saltcoats CID said: “The man sustained serious injuries in this attack and was taken to Crosshouse Hospital for treatment; however has since discharged.
“I would like to appeal to anyone who may have been in the vicinity of Afton Road at the time of the incident to come forward with information they may have.”
